ChristianNetcast.com Acquires NWR Network

Virginia Beach, VA (PRWEB) January 24, 2010 -- ChristianNetcast.com, a company specializing in providing quality, affordable streaming services has announced the completion of the acquisition of NWR Network of Colorado Springs. Terms of the deal finalized in 2009 were not disclosed. Several NWR Network staff members have joined the ChristianNetcast.com team according to a ChristianNetcast.com spokesperson.

David Palmer, Vice President-Sales and Marketing for ChristianNetcast.com, said the acquisition has been in the works for about a year. He added the deal brings both companies enhanced production capabilities. "NWR has provided production and streaming services to Christian radio stations and ministries. They were a perfect fit into our future plans for growth. ChristianNetcast.com and NWR will continue to operate as they always have but now both companies will be able to provide added value services with no increase in cost to the customers."

Over the next 12 months, the acquisition will increase the ChristianNetcast.com customer base and provide NWR with a more stable network infrastructure according to Todd VanTasel, Vice President-Technology for ChristianNetcast.com. "With the addition of NWR we have doubled our tech support staff and now are able to provide our customers with production services using a stable of radio talent with a combined 70 years of experience.”

One of those staff members making the transition from NWR to ChristianNetcast.com is Ray Terrill, who served at the Chief Engineer at NWR and has over 40 years of radio experience. “The transition has been productive and fruitful and we’re already seeing an improvement in the end product. Our customers have stable streams and the improved media player is drawing rave reviews,” Terrill said.

By offering custom internet radio stations, ministries and terrestrial radio stations alike can utilize this technology to expand their influence. Bob Blue, who served as the Music Director for NWR and is continuing that role with ChristianNetcast.com, put it this way, “I am so excited about what God is doing with Next Wave Radio. Working with Christian Netcast has opened up a new opportunity and experience for ministries and churches. It helps radio stations expand their reach with custom internet radio stations featuring music alternatives to their on-air signal.”

Rick McConnell, co-founder of NWR Network saw the value in providing internet radio stations to churches and ministries earlier this decade. "Mike Trout and I founded NWR around 2003 as a way to allow churches and ministries start their own internet radio stations. With the internet, the average station or ministry could have their own radio station. And we decided to help them ride that wave. We later ventured into station streaming for terrestrial stations,” McConnell said.

"The goal for NWR was to be the most cost effective option for streaming clients. The merger with ChristianNetcast.com helped the company stay on target with that goal,” said Mike Trout, cofounder of NWR. “NWR always strived to provide creative options for churches and other ministries to use the media to expand their outreach. The merger with ChristianNetcast.com provided us with support, technically and promotionally, to keep moving forward."

More about ChristianNetcast.com, ChristianNetcast.com was birthed in 1999, in what many would consider the most unlikely place to establish an internet company. While many internet startups were based in the Silicon Valley, ChristianNetcast.com was started in what used to be the lumber capital of the world, Bangor Maine. Todd VanTasel and David Palmer, founders of ChristianNetcast.com were attending a local church and saw the need to have the churches services broadcasted on the internet. When other ministries learned how the church was using this new streaming technology, they soon wanted to use the same type of tools for their church. The word about ChristianNetcast.com quickly spread and the company began to receive international recognition and was featured on television and radio programs such as Fox News, CBN, 700 Club and TBN. In 2006 the company moved its headquarters to Virginia Beach VA. ChristianNetcast.com currently serves over 500 ministries worldwide.
